Kylee from Red Moon Jewellery had only been open three months when her store was ram raided and robbed, doing over $30,000 damage to her fledgling business.

Two years on, she’s become a popular identity in the Wynnum Central business community  and has big plans for her store located in Florence Street.

Red Moon Jewellery stocks predominantly silver and semi-precious gemstone jewellery as well as crystals, De Rosa Rinconada figurines, jewellery boxes, bronze windchimes and hangers, crystal lights,  jewellery boxes and much more.

Kylee also offers jewellery custom makes, repairs, remodels and cleaning.

We get to know Kylee a little more below.

How long have you been in Wynnum?

I’ve lived in Wynnum for approximately 30 years and love it here.  I have raised both my boys here and love the sense of community in Wynnum, it’s a really special place.

In my time here I have volunteered at local schools and I’ve also volunteered with the Wynnum Manly Junior Rugby League Club for almost 10 years.

What do you love most about the Wynnum community?

When we were ram raided, it was just crushing. We were only a new business and still recovering from the outlay of our fitout and opening. Amazingly though, Red Moon Jewellery received so much support and assistance from friends, family and other local businesses which showed me how big a heart the Wynnum community has.

The people of Wynnum are just beautiful.  I’ve seen first-hand how the community comes together to support each other in the good and bad times. I am reminded almost daily how many beautiful people there are in our community and how blessed I am to live here and be a part of it!

What can customers expect from Red Moon Jewellery?

I’m very passionate about what I do, particularly when it comes to Australian gemstones. Customers here can expect truly unique pieces and personal one-on-one service, something that I think we are still very lucky to have here in Wynnum Central.

We are one of the very few shopping villages left in Brisbane and to be able to walk into a store and chat with the owner is something that is sadly becoming a bit of a rarity.

I love nothing more than seeing the smile on my customers faces when they see their special jewellery pieces refurbished or their vision for a jewellery piece brought to life – the custom design aspect of our business is for me, very rewarding.

Any exciting plans for Red Moon Jewellery in the next few months?

Yes actually! We’re about to start working with customers to design and make their own wedding bands.  You can’t get anything more personal than a beautifully designed band that is totally unique to you and your partner.

Those sorts of keepsakes are invaluable and we’re pretty excited to be moving forward with this concept and to start offering this as a service very soon.
